The Mediterranean islands are home to hundreds of bird species. You can enjoy hiking in the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro in Sicily. At the salt lakes in Sardinia, near Muraver you can see pink flamingos. It is one of the only places in Europe where you can see some of these species in the wild.
FOOD
There is no better foundation for Pistachio than at Etna. The town of Bronte is famous for its pistachio cultivation. You will find this green nut in various dishes and products throughout Sicily. A delicious scoop of Italian pistachio ice cream is a must!
