Those who like active holidays love the Ardèche. Thanks to the beautiful and vast green areas and the river which takes its name from this charming region, you can go canoeing, kayaking, rafting, trekking, mountain biking, climbing and scrambling.
To the south of this wonderful region are the Gorges de l'Ardèche. Canoe or kayak down the beautiful river and you will be surprised by the unusual rock formations and caves. The highlight of the trip is the natural bridge of Pont d'Arc, in the town of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. Very famous in the world for its impressive size being 54m high and 60m long!
The landscape of the Ardèche is characterized by endless lavender fields, olive groves and picturesque ancient villages. Making this region even more popular are the impressive caves. Start from the cave of Aven Orgnac, the Caves of Saint-Marcel and the Grotte Chauvet. The latter is one of the best known and most important prehistoric sites in Europe, packed with history, symbolic and aesthetics of the Stone Age. If you want to end your holiday with a little fun, then go to the ‘Foret de l'Aventure’, a beautiful park with different paths on trees. Fun for the whole family!
