Stunning scenery!

Travel to Austria for a holiday  but ensure you pack your walking shoes! This green mountainous country is excellent for walking along its many  glaciers, waterfalls and around its scenic mountain lakes.

Wildlife spotting 

On the border of Carinthia, Tyrol and Salzburg  you can take a guided tour with a local  ranger and learn everything about the the local wildlife and  glaciers. Maybe take a challenging mountain bike tour over the natural terrain, followed by a  delicious lunch at local mountain cafe? 

Baroque in the town

After enjoying the healthy mountain air you can surprise your kids with a city visit? The old town of Vienna and the Schönbrunn palace with accompanying gardens are one of  Unesco's world heritage sites - a must see!!! Maybe take a trip to the baroque town of Salzburg or   the modern 'City of Design'  -  Graz!! its fantastic art gallery is an example of the creativity of this modern city. In contrast to the modern aspects however this is also the largest medieval town in Europe. A beautiful combination of old and new!

Culinary Delights

Tyrolean potatoes

Ingredients: 6oo g of potatoes, 1 onion, 300 g of diced bacon, 80 g of butter, 1 teaspoon of marjoram, 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley, 2 tablespoons of butter, 4 eggs.

Fry the bacon in butter and boil the potatoes in their skins (10 min). Remove the skin and cut into thin slices. Sauté the finely chopped onion and add the potato slices and bacon. Season with salt, pepper and marjoram. Serve with fried eggs and parsley. Accompany  with a salad of cabbage....
