Vertiginous ravines

More and more people go on holiday in Portugal which is not surprising when you consider what the country has to offer. Here you will find ancient villages, monasteries and palaces, markets and delicious food. The northern part of Portugal is rich in greenery and is very fertile. There are vineyards, quiet beaches and unspoiled nature, such as the ‘Serra da Estrela’ with vertiginous ravines. Don’t forget to visit the happening Lisbon, so called the 'white city' because of the light it gives off. Lisbon is built on seven hills, and is very cosy and colourful.

Beach life

Most of the tourists prefer the southern part of Portugal, the Algarve, which stretches along the coast and boasts golden sandy beaches and large rock formations. Also here the weather is always great, especially around the tourist resorts such as Albufeira, Vilamoura and Lagos. You will find not only long sandy beaches and surfing areas, but also areas with shallow water and small bays. In addition, go to any location you can taste the delicious fresh fish.

Culinary Delights

Portuguese beef stew

Classic dish with meat and wine

ingredients: 
750g of beef, 40 g butter, 2 cloves of garlic, 3 onions, 1 bell pepper, 2 tomatoes, 2 glasses of red wine, 2 tablespoons dried oregano, 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped).

Crush the garlic and chop the onion and peppers in small size. Cut the meat into 4 equal portions and brown in butter in a frying pan. Fry garlic and onion add the tomatoes, wine and oregano. Bring to a boil, add the meat and cook for about an hour and a half. When cooked, garnish with parsley. Tip: Portuguese cuisine is accompanied by very well with a side of fries.
