Corsica, the island of beautyThe island of beauty, that nickname is so rightly so. France can squeeze its hands with such a beautiful piece of territory in the Mediterranean Sea. Corsica has a culturally diverse character that is mainly due to the mishmash of people who ruled the island alternately. Since 2 centuries the hatchet has been buried after the incorporation of France, but traces of other cultures can be found everywhere. The town of Porto Vecchio is located on a hill and is surrounded by an old fortress wall. And history goes back much further in the hinterland of the city, because Alta Rocca and the Bavella Massif are even prehistoric. In the village of Levie you can learn all about it in the Alta Rocca Museum. In Bonifacio you will marvel at both nature and history. The city is built on a massive rock and is 80 meters higher than the sea. The perpendicular limestone rocks are impressive! When you walk into the center you see historical structures one after the other and you have a fantastic view at various points! You can find a beautiful piece of unspoilt nature on Îles de Lavezzi, an island group in a large marine reserve with a unique flora and fauna. How beautiful nature is!
