Enjoy a natural holiday in Languedoc-Roussillon, a region full of parks, caves, gorges and rock formations, plus Carcassonne, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Europe.
The Cevennes National Park is the second largest in France. Here you can canoe through the gaps in the Gorges of the Tarn, check out the stalactite Aven Armand and La Grotte des Demoiselles or take the train up the rock formation. A more natural place is the Causses, the limestone plateaus in the Massif Central.
Also do not miss the Camargue Regional Nature Park, known for animals living in the wild. White Camargue horses, black bulls and pink flamingos. Just relax and you can Sunbathe at the Plage de l'Espiguette, or discover the Camargue on horseback. Medieval traces are found all over Languedoc-Roussillon and the capital Montpellier is a warren of narrow alleys, squares and mansions. You can relax on a terrace on the Place de la Comedie.
