Holiday Denmark

Holiday to Denmark

Denmark: Beaches, Legoland and Copenhagen...

Long sandy beaches, charming villages and of course Legoland - Denmark is an ideal destination for a family holiday. All is great for shopping (Copenhagen!)  and cycling... Denmark is the place for you!

From island to island

Jutland is attached to the European continent, the rest of Denmark is spread over numerous islands. Fyn, the centre island, is a place with rolling wheat fields and old towns. Hans Christian Andersen was born on Fyn, that’s enough travel inspiration there! So if you want to experience Denmark, go island hopping in the authentic Zuid-Funense archipelago.

If you’re looking for the longest shopping street in Europe, you’ll find it here in Copenhagen. There’s much more to do than shopping though. Take the children to Tivoli, the amusement park/city park in the heart of the city centre. Look around the museums, enjoy the food at one of the best restaurants in the world, Noma, is also in Copenhagen.

Do not miss:

Danish apple pie

Ingredients: 100g cold organic butter, 150g plain flour, 2 Tbsp cane sugar, 1/2 beaten eggs, 3 tablespoons of sugar

Cut the butter into small pieces and crumble it into the flour. Add the eggs and sugar. Gather the dough quickly. Do not knead the dough. Then put the dough in the fridge for half an hour to an hour. Can not wait? So try to roll it out on a table with flour on (not too thin). Then place the dough in a greased Flan dish and press along the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork.

Then stir marzipan with an egg, milk and wheat flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar and possibly cinnamon. You can peel the apples or leave the skin on, remove the core. Slice the apples into thin slices. Add apple slices in an attractive pattern on top of the mass. Finally sprinkle the tart with 3 tablespoons cane sugar - the sugar will caramelize.

Baked the pie for approximately 30-45 minutes at 180 degrees or until the apples are dark around the edges and the marzipan is golden.
