Pedras del Rei area Pedras del Rei holiday park is close to the fishing village of Santa Luzia. On the boulevard you will find several eateries and from the terraces you can look out onto the fishing boats. You can imagine that we recommend the Portuguese dishes with fresh fish ... it couldn't be fresher! You can cycle from Pedras del Rei to Tavira that will undoubtedly conquer your heart. Please note this is a 7km cycle. Along the Gilão River that cuts through Tavira, you will find beautiful old houses with pointed roofs. Cross the river via the Ponte Romana. Sit down on one of the terraces and enjoy a bite to eat along the quays. Stroll through the narrow streets with whitewashed houses and churches and admire the Igreja da Misericórdia the tile pictures that Portugal is famous for. Walk into a pastelleria for one of the famous Portuguese pastries such as the pastel de nata. Don't forget to take photos! Faro the capital of the Algarve is also particularly photogenic. The old walled centre, Cidade Velha, has a car-free pedestrian area. Here you will find restaurants with terraces and small shops with traditional handicrafts.
