At the Regional Natural Park of the Northern Vosges it was awarded the UNESCO rare title of "World Biosphere Reserve".
Crazy about forests? Then you've come to the right place! The forest, which covers 65% of the territory, is home to a very diverse fauna. Even in the tourist resorts you can enjoy the features of this region. Along the river valleys you will find cattle grazing, fields, orchards and medieval ruins. The Tour du Grand Wintersberg Panoramique offers fantastic views of the Vosges Mountains, Alsace, and on a clear day, the Alps.
Still nature? There is also the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges, rich in limestone valleys and pine forests!

Relax and cities

A very touristy place in the Vosges / Alsace is Lake Gerardmer. Water lovers will be happy to spend their time here, will be an opportunity for canoeing, swimming and sailing.
After all the physical activity you prefer to go back in the tourist village or improvise a trip into town? Nancy, a city of Art Nouveau, is adorned with magnificent buildings. Place Stanislas is surrounded by monuments worked in wrought iron and gilded gates. The Park Pepinière, complete with garden, offers a moment of relaxation to the tourists.

Take a well-filled wallet to Strasbourg; not so much because of the expensive brands, but mostly because there are hundreds of small boutiques.  Shopping places in this city are Place des Halles, rue des Frères d'Alsace, the Arcades and Lafayette department store in the main square. 



Fancy an educational day out? In the Aquarium-Museum in Nancy you can see 60 tanks housing species from the Amazon and the Red Sea! In addition to the tanks, there are also a number of collections of mammals and the museum has many exhibitions. 


Vins d'Alsace in Colmar

Wine lovers can travel to Colmar for the ‘Foire aux Vins d'Alsace’. As the name suggests this is a place where you can taste great food and the best wines from the region; pinot blanc, pinot gris and Riesling. Also during this festival there are concerts with big names like Mika and Deep Purple.
