Camping Le Pianacce, with its hillside setting and its panoramic views of the typical Tuscan landscape is one of our top locations in this region. The campsite has over 50 different types of trees which offer an abundance of shady pitches and is an oasis of relaxation.
Great layout of site with good facilities (shop, restaurant and pools) with lots of things to do for the kids and attractive setting for adults, in easy reach of local villages, beaches and attractions.Tips for surrounding area
Beaches at Baratti and Marina di Bibbona; day trips to Pisa and Volterra; festival in Castagneto Carducci; two days at either end of our holiday in Rome where we flew into.
The local towns and the beach.Suggestions
We asked when we booked to be located next to another family booking at the same time, this didn't happen. We couldn't have been further apart. The staff were all shagging each other, which was uncomfortable, especially with those running the select camp reception and the kids club. The site is very steep which made it unsuitable for small children and difficult to navigate with a push chair. The pools are very busy with many sunbeds reserved but unoccupied for most of the day, other places have a better system. The pool water was too cold. The service in the on site restaurant was terrible. The chap running the kids club was a nut job.
