Picardy Once at Camping Le Phare d'Opale you may have a tendency to mess around on the beach and devour your stack of holiday books, but don't forget to explore Picardy! The most obvious is a visit to Boulogne-sur-Mer, the 'neighbour' of Le Phare. The atmospheric medieval centre and the harbour provide the best photos, the trendiest shops. Eateries and bars can be found in the new centre at Place Dalton and your children will probably find the Aquarium Nausicaá most spectacular. Or drive to Le Touquet-Paris-Page, the beach where Parisians have been celebrating their beach vacation for 100 years. Beautiful old villas and less known: Parc nature Baie de Canche, a varied walking area with dunes, forests, sea views and with a bit of luck you can even see seals.
