Camping Domaine de la Paille Basse is nestled around a few restored farms in the shade of the forest where squirrels jump from branch to branch and you can just stand eye-to-eye with a deer. Cricket sounds are interspersed with happy children's voices, La Paille Basse seems to blend in with the surroundings. The unspoilt nature and view are beautiful but there is also plenty to do on La Paille Basse.
Whether you are a toddler or a teenager, a water rat, a gourmet or a culture lover, all guests will enjoy the Domaine de la Paille Basse!

The surrounding area Sarlat in the Périgord-Nord is a famous place less than 30 kilometers from La Paille Basse. It is not without reason that Sarlat is a tourist attraction. Restored medieval houses and pleasant terraces in the car-free city centre. Atmospheric street artists and markets with the most delicious local products, all the ingredients you need for a nice holiday. Another recommendation is the picturesque town of Rocamadour, which is built against a mountain. The steep slope is quite a climb, so take the tourist train because at the top of the 'Grand Escalier' you will find the basilicas of the old pilgrimage site (note: long sleeves / covered legs!). Also put the Lascaux caves on your itinerary, see the paintings of bison, deer and other animals in the replica Lascaux II. The original paintings were affected by fungi and algae caused by the visitors. Still impressive when you consider that the paintings were painted around 15,000 years before Christ ... Enjoy your exploration of the Lot and the Dordogne!
